My name is Ki (original title: Ki ) is a Polish film by Leszek Dawid from 2011. The film was released on November 26, 2015 in German cinemas.

action

Kinga, called Ki, likes to be youthful, but already has a 2-year-old son, Pio. However, she does not want to be restricted in her freedom by this, because nothing bothers her more than the stamp "single mother". So she moves from one party to the next at night as usual and tries as best she can not to think about her unpaid bills.

Since separating from Pio's father Anto, Ki has lived in a flat share with the frugal Miko, who cannot do her son's upbringing for her, no matter how much she hopes for support every now and then. She got into increasing difficulties with the organization of the parties, her numerous part-time jobs and the upbringing of Pio, so that finally the social welfare office is at the door. She is forced to finally set new priorities.

criticism

The film service judges: “With a moving camera and pointed montage, the film traces the dreams of young people in Poland, their need for freedom, independence and a self-determined life, whereby the authentically and psychologically precisely drawn, powerfully played title character is as fascinating as it is repulsive. At the same time, the film describes the social environment that is characterized by helplessness, selfishness, comfort and cowardice. "
