Idar Kristiansen

Idar Kristiansen (born May 16, 1932 in Honningsvåg , Norway , † January 10, 1985 ) was a Norwegian writer .

Life

Idar Kristiansen grew up in Tromsø . With his volume of poetry Sanger fra en tundra he made his debut as a writer in 1957 at the age of 25. He made his novel debut in 1978 with Svanevinger i nord . He published his only non-fiction book in 1970 with Korstog mot Kautokeino , a collection of documents about the Kautokeino uprising. He was awarded the Aschehoug Prize in 1980. A year later, he received a nomination for the Nordic Council's Literature Prize for his novel, published in 1980 .

His first two novels, Svanevinger i nord and Den salte åkeren , published in 1978 and 1979, were filmed for Finnish cinema in 1985 by Lasse Glomm with Stein Bjørn , Arja Saijonmaa and Bjørn Sundquist in the leading roles. With the German title Unter dem Nordlicht , the youth film “beautifully photographed” according to the lexicon of the international film was broadcast on the DFF 2 television station on 1988 .
