Ignacio "Nacho" Plaza Jiménez (born January 10, 1994 in Ciudad Real ) is a Spanish handball player .

Career

Ignacio Plaza Jiménez played for BM Ciudad Real , for whom he played in the EHF Champions League in the 2010/11 season. As of 2012, the 1.95-meter-tall runner was part of the squad of the Spanish first division club BM Puerto Sagunto . For the 2015/16 season he moved to the German Bundesliga club Füchse Berlin , with whom he signed a three-year contract. With the Füchsen he was club world champion in 2015 and 2016 . During the 2017/18 season he suffered a ruptured cruciate ligament and had to watch the victory of his foxes in the EHF Cup from the stands. From summer 2018 he was under contract with SC Magdeburg . A year later Ignacio Plaza Jiménez moved to the Greek club AEK Athens . With AEK he won the Greek championship in 2020.

At the U20 European Championship in Austria in 2014 , Plaza Jiménez won the bronze medal with the Spanish junior national team and was elected to the all-star team of the tournament.
