Ignatius Mouradgea d'Ohsson

Ignatius Mouradgea d'Ohsson (born July 31, 1740 in Constantinople , † August 27, 1807 in Bièvres ) was an Armenian orientalist, historian and diplomat in the Swedish service. He was born Ignatius Muradcan Tosunyan to a Catholic family. His father was an interpreter at the Swedish Embassy and his son followed him in this career. In 1768 he became chief interpreter, and when he was later raised to the Swedish nobility, he adopted the French-sounding name d'Ohsson. He lived in France for many years.

Constantin d'Ohsson , author of a famous Mongolian story, was his son.
