Ignaz Görtz
Ignaz Görtz (born December 19, 1930 in Altenahr ; † November 28, 2018 ) was a German archivist and local history researcher .
Career
Görtz passed his Abitur at a grammar school in Ahrweiler and studied economics at the University of Bonn . Later he took over the parents' photo studio. From 1973 until he retired, he worked as a district archivist for the Ahrweiler district administration .
As a local researcher, he published on the history of the Ahr Valley. For 30 years he was an honorary member of the Altenahr municipal and association council.
