Ignaz Gabloner

Ignaz Gabloner (born November 29, 1887 in Bozen ; † July 14, 1964 ibid.) Was a South Tyrolean sculptor .

Life

After the school years at the local arts and crafts school and an artistic training in Germany , Gabloner devoted himself to sculpture in his hometown and took on his first public contracts. In the years of fascism he regularly took part in the regime-related art biennials in Bolzano. In 1940 he became - like his artist colleague Hans Piffrader - a member of the Fascist Party of Italy . After the end of the Second World War he joined the newly founded South Tyrolean Artists Association .
