Igor Alexandrowitsch Magogin ( Russian Игорь Александрович Магогин ; born September 16, 1981 in Sverdlovsk , Russian SFSR ) is a Russian ice hockey player who was most recently under contract with Severstal Cherepovets in the Continental Hockey League .

Career

Igor Magogin began his career as a hockey player with Gasowik Tyumen , for whose professional team he was active from 2000 to 2004 in the Vysschaya League , the second Russian division. The attacker then spent three years with his league rivals Sputnik Nizhny Tagil . From 2007 to 2009 he played in his hometown for Avtomobilist Yekaterinburg in the Vysschaya League.

Since Awtomobilist was accepted into the Continental Hockey League founded a year earlier for the 2009/10 season , Magogin has been on the ice for the club in the KHL. In the 2010/11 season he also made 12 appearances for his ex-club Sputnik Nizhny Tagil in the new second division, the Wysschaja Hockey League .

In June 2011 he moved within the KHL to HK Ugra Khanty-Mansiysk , where he was under contract for the following four years and was able to regularly confirm his services. In May 2015 he left HK Ugra and was signed by HK Lada Tolyatti .

In the 2016/17 season Magogin was under contract with Severstal Tscherepowez . In January 2017 he suffered a traumatic brain injury as a result of a collision , had to end the season and has been without a club since then.
