Ikram Kerwat (born March 18, 1984 in Beja , Tunisia ) is a Tunisian-German boxer .

Amateur career

Ikram Kerwat made her athletic start at the age of four with judo in her native Tunisia. Here she was the African champion in her age group at the age of ten. At the same time, she started boxing in her hometown of Beja at the age of nine and finished judo training at the age of eleven. Shortly before her 13th birthday, she and her family moved from Tunisia to Frankfurt am Main (Germany). Here she met Eppie (Efraim) Chapman (world champion and multiple European champion in kickboxing and karate), who was to be her trainer for years.

From the age of 19 she trained under Emil Freihaut ( CSC Frankfurt ). At the age of 25, Kerwat moved to Berlin and played three fights as an amateur for SC Eintracht Berlin (two wins, one of which was knocked out , and one defeat). In 2010 she became Berlin champion and took third place in the German championship. After two baby breaks, she started a professional career at the end of 2013 and switched to Legends Fight & Box Academy in Berlin.

Professional career

On February 27, 2015 Kerwat made her professional debut in Berlin's Universal Hall. In the first round, she hit her opponent Sandy Weber from Leipzig so hard that the referee broke off the fight. She turned up to fight again, but was taken out of the ring. The winner was Kerwat by knockout. On June 18, 2015 Enno Werle was signed as her coach; Since September 2015 she has been trained by Sven Ottke . On December 12, 2015 she won the vacant international German championship of the GBA through TKO against Zsofia Bedo in Dessau.

On April 9, 2016 Kerwat won the vacant title International Champion of the WBC through TKO in the first round against Gina Chamie . On June 16, she fought in Berlin ( Max-Schmeling-Halle ) against world champion Ramona Kühne over three rounds with a dislocated shoulder and had to give up due to an injury.

On February 8, 2018 Kerwat fought in the USA against the American Angel Gladney for the vacant WBU World Cup title . She won this fight clearly on points and is thus world champion of the WBU.

Kerwat is a trained physiotherapist and lives in Berlin.
