Il maresciallo Rocca is a 28-part television series produced in 1995 by RAI , Solaris Cinematografica . Directed by Giorgio Capitani . The protagonist of the series is Giovanni Rocca, sergeant ( maresciallo ) of the Carabinieri , played by Gigi Proietti . The series ran from 1996 to 2005 in Italy on RAI Due. In Germany it has not yet been broadcast.

The focus is on Marshal Rocca de Carabinieri. As a sergeant in Viterbo , he is confronted every day with cases ranging from murder, drug trafficking, illegal immigration to kidnappings. After his wife is the victim of a bomb attack, he is left with his three grown children, who also often bring him into conflict with his professional duties. He is friends with the pharmacist Margherita, who lives apart from her husband.
