Ilya Bereznickas
Ilja Bereznickas (born January 1, 1948 in Vilnius , actually as Илья́ Ша́хнович Березни́цкас (Березни́цкий / Bereznickij)) is a Lithuanian artist , illustrator , caricaturist and animation filmmaker .
Life
Bereznickas was born into a Jewish family. After studying architecture at the Polytechnic Institute (today: Technical University ) in Kaunas , he completed a postgraduate course in film directing in Moscow, and since 1985 he has been working in the Lithuanian film studio as a director and animation artist. In 2003/2004 he taught animation at the School of Visual Arts in New York City (USA). He teaches at the Vilnius Art Academy .
Awards
So far, he has received the following awards for his cartoons:
- 1987: First prize at the International Film Festival in Portugal - attention children
- 1988: first prize in Bilbao , Spain for the film - Bermuda Ring
- 1989: the special award of the Kiev International Festival of Animated Film - Bugaboo
- 1990: Alpha Video Prize 90 in Brno , Czech Republic - rugby
