Ilya Prachar
Ilja Prachař (born April 30, 1924 in Malenovice near Zlín , † August 10, 2005 in Prague ) was a Czech actor.
Prachař began his career with the Army Artistic Ensemble in Zlín and Ostrava . In 1954 he appeared in the theater of the SKNeumann and since 1959 in the Divadlo na Vinohradech in Prague. He has appeared on stage in more than 80 theater roles, in 90 films and 130 television films and series in front of the camera. He was best known to the Czech audience as Trautenberk in the television series Krkonošské pohádky (1974) (German: Giant Mountains Tale ). In Germany he was seen in the King of the Bohemian Forest (1959), but also in the film adaptation of Ladislav Fuks' Der Leichenverbrenner (1968).
His son David Prachař is also an actor.
