Ilya Nikolayevich Ulyanov
Ilya Ulyanov (* July 19 . Jul / 31 July 1831 greg. In Astrakhan , † January 12 jul. / 24. January 1886 greg. In Simbirsk ) was the father of Aleksandr Ulyanov and Vladimir Ilyich Lenin . He was a math and physics teacher.
Life
Ulyanov came from a poor petty bourgeois family Kalmyk - Russian descent from Astrakhan. Despite his poverty, he managed to graduate from Kazan University in 1854 . Ulyanov taught mathematics and physics in secondary schools in Penza and Nizhny Novgorod . For his long service, he was later raised to the hereditary nobility .
In 1863 he married Marija Alexandrovna Blank . In 1869 Ulyanov gave up teaching, was first inspector and later director of the elementary schools in Simbirsk Governorate . In the almost 20 years of its activity, the number of schools in Simbirsk Governorate increased significantly. He trained many teachers who were felt to be progressive and who were called "Uljanower".
