Illobrand von Ludwiger (born July 20, 1937 in Stettin ) is a German author, known for his publications on the UFO phenomenon (partly under the pseudonym Illo Brand ).

Life

Von Ludwiger studied physics in Hamburg, Erlangen and Göttingen. In addition to his studies, he worked for two years at the University Observatory in Bamberg and obtained his diploma as a physicist at the University of Erlangen in 1964 . He worked as a systems analyst in the aerospace industry for EADS, among others, and in military projects in the USA, France and England.

In 1974 he founded the Central European section of the US UFO company Mutual UFO Network (MUFON), MUFON-CES in Feldkirchen-Westerham . This is a private association of scientists for the study of unidentifiable objects in flight. In May 2014 he resigned the chairmanship and resigned from the organization. Since October 2014 Ludwiger has been heading the “Interdisciplinary Society for the Analysis of Anomalous Phenomena e. V. "(IGAAP).

Von Ludwiger is the author of numerous books and magazine articles, especially on the UFO phenomenon. He advocates the thesis that some UFO appearances cannot be traced back to known earthly causes and that this can also be scientifically proven. In recognition of his many years of research into UFO phenomena, he received the Dr. A. Hedri Prize from the private Swiss Hedri Foundation in 1990 . Von Ludwiger has been in retirement since 1999.
