Ilona Király

Ilona Király (* around 1914, † 1979 ) was a Hungarian table tennis player . Her most successful time is in the period from 1936 to 1952. She won silver with the team at the 1950 World Cup .

Ilona Király won a total of ten titles at national Hungarian championships, namely

  • 1936 in single
  • 1944, 1948, 1949, 1951, 1952 in doubles with Gizella Farkas
  • 1936, 1949, 1950, 1951 in team competition with the clubs Ferencvárosi Torna Club, Elektromos Sport Egyesület, Vörös Meteor SE and SZOT I.

She was nominated for world championships five times , namely in 1936 , 1937 , 1938 , 1947 and 1950 . Here she reached the final with the Hungarian women's team in 1950, which however was lost to Romania.

Personal

Ilona Király was married to Géza Fábián. She was buried on August 24, 1979 on the Rákoskeresztúri új köztemető in Budapest .
