Ilona Sekacz
Ilona Sekacz (born April 6, 1948 in Blackpool , England ) is a British composer .
biography
Ilona Sekacz is the daughter of a Polish woman and an Englishman. She learned the violin in her childhood and was later a member of the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain . After studying at the University of Birmingham , she began composing for theatrical performances. She worked for the Royal Shakespeare Company and the National Theater in London, among others . From 1980 she composed for television productions and from 1994 for movies.
In 2018 she was appointed to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences , which awards the Oscars every year.
