Ilse Reiter (born June 29, 1920 in Neuwied ; † June 5, 2009 in Saarbrücken ) was a Saarland politician ( DPS ).

After elementary school, she first attended the Oberlyzeum in Neuwied and after completing upper secondary school she switched to the Schloss Salem school , where she passed her Abitur in 1939. She then studied chemistry for four semesters and passed the state examination as a chemical engineer.

She moved to Saarland with her husband Franz Reiter in 1949. The following year she began to be politically active and joined the DPS. Since the party campaigned against the will of the French occupying power for a reunification of the Saarland with Germany, Ilse Reiter was also exposed to pressure from the authorities. Her phone was tapped and her house was searched; In 1952, her passport was revoked when she tried to cross the border with some papers.

In 1956 she was elected to the Saarbrücken City Council. On February 9, 1959, she moved as deputy for the late Adolf heating in the state parliament of Saarland after which it belonged until the end of the legislative period 1960th

She then worked as HR manager at Kaufhof and the Röchling Bank. She was a co-founder of the German Women's Ring and the Saarland Women's Council. From 1963 to 1996 she was a member of the board of directors of the Saarland consumer association, from 1986 she was its chairman; today she is honorary chairman. In 1995 she was awarded the Saarland Order of Merit . Since 2000 she was a member of the council of elders of the Saarbrücker Zeitung .

Ilse Reiter is the grandmother of the handball players Jens and Peter Sieberger .
