Ilse von Kamptz (born June 15, 1909 in Breslau ; † March 18, 2000 in Berlin ) was a German bookseller , antiquarian and gallery owner .

In 1951, von Kamptz founded the "Deutsche Bücherstube" at Friedrichstrasse 113 in East Berlin , to which an antiquarian bookshop was attached on the first floor. At the opening she received congratulations from Jorge Amado and Pablo Neruda, among others . Anna Seghers and Stephan Hermlin were among the most famous visitors . The “Deutsche Bücherstube” was later expanded to include the “Galerie Deutsche Bücherstube”, where contemporary artists presented their works. In the 1950s, Ilse von Kamptz put the “Deutsche Bücherstube” under the sponsorship of the Nation's publishing house, which belongs to the NDPD . They successfully proceeded against a takeover of the antiquarian bookshop by the Naumburg bookseller and antiquarian Erwin Kohlmann as a branch, which was approved by the NDPD board in contradiction to their valid contract. Under her leadership, the gallery developed into a center for cultural encounters. In addition to exhibitions by numerous artists from the GDR, it also presented German art of the 20th century and art by international artists. She corresponded with Greta Kuckhoff from 1961 until her death. At the end of 1962 she left the "Deutsche Bücherstube".
