Image Professionals is a media company that unites various international specialist image agencies on the subjects of food, living, beauty, science, medicine & health, gardening and travel, as well as services for professional image users.

history

Image Professionals was founded in 1979 as a food picture agency under the name StockFood by photographer Pete A. Eising in Munich , who headed the agency as CEO until 2016 . In June 2016 Hubert Burda Media took a 100% stake in StockFood GmbH and integrated the agency into the Burda network. With the change of shareholders, StockFood was moved to Burda in the BurdaHome division.

After other specialist agencies and professional services were added to the StockFood stock photo agency over the years, StockFood GmbH was renamed Image Professionals GmbH on September 1, 2019.

At the beginning, the image agency's offer only included images that required a license. The collection was established in 2002 to RF images ( Royalty free extended), 2008 were added videos and 2011 finally complete features d. H. editorial articles including images and text.

Image Professionals is headquartered in Munich and has two subsidiaries in Great Britain and the USA. These are StockFood America, Inc., founded in Kennebunk / Maine (USA) in 1996, and StockFood Ltd., founded in 2007. based in London (UK). Image Professionals have a total of around 60 employees, over 50 of them at the headquarters in Munich.

The agency is represented in 50 countries through partner agencies and service offices.

Photographers and clients

Image Professionals represents the work of almost 3,000 photographers and producers. In the food sector, these include artists such as David Loftus (photographer of Jamie Oliver's cookbooks ), Jean Cazals, Michael Paul and Jo van den Berg .

Image Professionals works exclusively in the B2B area. Its customers include primarily publishers, editorial offices, advertising agencies, and the food trade and industry.

Picture agencies

StockFood specializes in food & drink and enjoyment. The company is the world market leader among food photo agencies. The collection includes over 750,000 images, photo series and videos by international food photographers and food bloggers. In addition, professional recipe texts in up to 10 languages are available for all images.

living4media - The agency for living & living : The picture agency, founded in 2011, specializes in interior design, living and living and brings together international interior photographers and agencies. In addition to individual images, living4media also offers features - image series with up to 100 individual images including editorial text.

seasons.agency - The beauty of photography : emerged in 2014 from the syndication of Jahreszeiten Verlag from Hamburg, the seasons collection includes content on the topics of beauty, cover, food, home and travel. In addition to selected photographers, the agency also represents lifestyle productions from European publishers that can be exclusively licensed.

PhotoCuisine is a French picture agency in the field of food photography. Founded in 2000, the agency now represents French food photographers. Since 2015 StockFood has taken over the worldwide distribution of PhotoCuisine outside of France.

Science Photo Library - The Agency for Medicine & Science : Founded in 1981 in London, the Science Photo Library collection today comprises 400,000 scientifically tagged, partly specialized images, illustrations and videos on the subjects of medicine and science. Since 2016, StockFood GmbH has taken over the distribution of Science Photo Library in Germany.

Friedrich Strauss is a German garden photo agency. The focus of the collection, which comprises around 100,000 images, is the photo productions of garden and plant photographer Friedrich Strauss, supplemented by the work of other professional garden photographers.

lookphotos - Agency for Travel, Outdoor & Nature was founded in 1989 in Munich by a group of professional travel and sports photographers and is now one of the German travel photo agencies. Image Professionals took over the distribution of the brand in April 2019. The focus of the collection, which comprises around 700,000 images, is on regional topics from Germany, Austria and Switzerland, as well as travel photos from all over the world.

House of Pictures - The Premium Home & Living Agency : The Danish special picture agency House of Pictures was founded in 2000 and is a provider of features in the areas of interior and lifestyle. It brings together the work of 250 predominantly Scandinavian interior photographers, authors and stylists. Image Professionals has taken over the worldwide distribution of the collection since October 2019.
