Imhotep is an ancient Egyptian king ( Pharaoh ) of the 8th Dynasty ( First Intermediate Period ).

This ruler is named on the rock inscription of a 2,500-strong expedition in Wadi Hammamat led by the eldest king's son and General Djati / Kaibefer under his rule . Possibly he is to be equated with a king's son Imhotep as the leader of another expedition to Wadi Hammamat. However, he would have carried out this before his reign as king.
