Imre Soós [ ˈimrɛ ˈʃoːʃ ] (born February 12, 1930 in Balmazújváros , Hungary , † June 20, 1957 in Budapest ) was a Hungarian actor .

The son of a poor family of small houses with eight children was given the opportunity to graduate from the Budapest Theater and Film School from 1948 to 1952 and, after graduating from 1952 to 1955 , was engaged at the Csokonai Theater ( Csokonai Nemzeti Színház ) in Debrecen . His intense playing and his strong stage presence, for example as Romeo , made the sensitive young man a star at an early age. In 1954 he received the Mari Jászai Prize .

Soós, who started as an extra in film in 1948, also enjoyed a steep rise in this medium. In 1955 he and Mari Törőcsik were the "dream couple" in Zoltán Fábri's film Körhinta ( Carousel ). Soós later belonged to the ensemble of the Budapest Madách Theater ( Madách Színház ), which introduces him on its website today under “Our greatest”. In June 1957 Soós was found dead with his wife Hedvig Perjési; The official cause of death was double suicide .
