Balmazújváros (German: Neustadt auf d. Heiduckenboden ) is a town and the administrative seat of the small area of the same name in Hajdú-Bihar County in eastern Hungary . Almost 17,400 people live in an area of ​​205.45 km² (as of 2011). The city is connected to the Debrecen – Füzesabony railway line .

In the Roman Catholic town church Urunk Mennybemenetele is the altarpiece "Ascension of Christ" by Hubert Maurer .
