Nagyhegyes is a Hungarian community in the county Hajdúszoboszló in Hajdú-Bihar .
geography
Nagyhegyes is located five kilometers south of the town of Balmazújváros, on the eastern edge of the Hortobágyi National Park . The Keleti Canal flows through the municipality . Nagyhegyes borders on the following municipalities:

history
The place was abandoned during the Turkish rule and only in the 20th century a noteworthy settlement formed again.
