The Hajdúszoboszló ( Hungarian: Hajdúszoboszlói kistérség ) was a Hungarian administrative unit ( LAU 1) in the center of Hajdú-Bihar County in eastern Hungary until the end of 2012 . At the beginning of 2013, as part of the administrative reform, all four municipalities were transferred to the subsequent district of Hajdúszoboszló ( Hajdúszoboszlói járás ), which was reinforced by the town of Nádudvar from the small area of ​​Püspökladány .

At the end of 2012, 34,288 people lived in an area of ​​506.74 km². The population density of the second poorest small area with 68 inhabitants / km² was slightly below that of the county (87 inhabitants / km²).

The administrative seat was the only city Hajdúszoboszló (23.988 Ew.). The 3 municipalities (Hungarian község ) had an average population of 3,433 (89.35 km² each).
