The small area Hajdúhadház ( Hungarian Hajdúhadházi kistérség ) was a Hungarian administrative unit ( LAU 1) in the northeast of Hajdú-Bihar County in eastern Hungary until the end of 2012 . In the southeast it bordered Romania . At the beginning of 2013, in the course of the Hungarian administrative reform, 3 of the 11 localities came into the successor district Hajdúhadház (Hungarian Hajdúhadházi járás ), which only had a third (22,328 Ew.) Of the original population. 7 localities (with 25,651 Ew.) Changed to the split off and newly created district Nyíradony (Hungarian Nyíradonyi járás ), the city Hajdúsámson moved to the district Debrecen .

The administrative seat was in the city of Hajdúhadház (12,762 Ew.). Hajdúsámson (12.884 Ew.), Nyíradony (7.778 Ew.), Téglás (6.485 Ew.) And Vámospércs (5.321 Ew.) Also had city rights. Nyírábrány (3.798 Ew.) Was the only large municipality (Hungarian Nagyközség ).
