The small area Püspökladány ( Hungarian Püspökladányi kistérség ) was until the end of 2012 a Hungarian administrative unit ( LAU 1) in the southwest of Hajdú-Bihar County in eastern Hungary . At the beginning of 2013, 12 of the 13 villages were transferred to the successor district of Püspökladány (Hungarian: Püspökladányi járás ), and the town of Nádudvar moved to the district of Hajdúszoboszló .

At the end of 2012, 49,764 people lived in an area of ​​954.95 km². The population density of the second largest small area was 52 below that of the county.

The administrative seat was in the city of Püspökladány (15.008 Ew.). Nádudvar (8,887 Ew.) And Kaba (6,005 Ew.) Also had the town charter. Földes , Sárrétudvari and Nagyrábé were three large municipalities ( Nagyközség in Hungarian ). These and the 7 rural communities had an average population of 1,986 (over 44.71 km² each).
