The small area Polgár ( Hungarian Polgári kistérség ) was a Hungarian administrative unit ( LAU 1) in the northwest of Hajdú-Bihar County in the Northern Great Plain . As part of the administrative reform, it was dissolved at the end of 2012 and divided between the Hajdúnánás district (five localities) and the Balmazújváros district (the municipality of Újszentmargita).

At the end of 2012, 13,956 people lived in an area of ​​383.86 km². The population density of the smallest and least populous small area was 36 inhabitants / km².

The administrative seat was in the only city Polgár (8,062 Ew.). The five municipalities (Hungarian község ) had an average population of 1,179 (each on an area of ​​57.28 km²).
