Ina Rama

Ina Rama (born November 21, 1972 in Durrës ) is an Albanian lawyer. Between 2007 and 2012 she was the head of the Albania Public Prosecutor's Office .

Life

In 1995, Rama completed her studies at the Law Faculty of the University of Tirana and then worked for four years as a subsidiary judge at the Qark Court in her native Durrës . From 2002 to 2004 she worked as a chief judge at the Lushnja Qark Court . In 2005 she began her career in the public prosecutor's office, where she first held a position as a judge at the Serious Crimes Court and was appointed Supreme Prosecutor in 2007 on the proposal of President Bamir Topi and confirmed by Parliament . She is the first woman to hold this position.

In December 2012, her tenure with the public prosecutor ended and Ina Rama was replaced by Adriatik Llalla .

Private

Ina Rama is married and lives in Durrës. She speaks English and Italian as foreign languages.
