Ina Wunn

Ina Wunn (born July 26, 1954 in Remscheid ) is a German religious scholar and biologist . She has held an adjunct chair in religious studies since 2007, currently at the University of Hanover .

Live and act

Before Ina Wunn turned to religion, she studied geology , biology and palaeontology at the University of Marburg from 1973 to 1981 , which was followed by a doctorate in 1985 . From 1986 to 1989 she did a research stay in East Africa. In 1994 she began studying religious studies and philosophy at the University of Hanover, which she also completed with a doctorate (1999). After completing her habilitation in 2002, she began her professorship in 2007; first at Bielefeld University , later in Hanover.

Together with her colleagues Patrick Urban and Constantin Klein, she is the founder of a branch of research that links the natural sciences and the humanities and asks about the biological origin and evolution of religions and cultures.

In addition to her academic work, she was politically active in the FDP , for which she ran in the Lower Saxony state elections in 2007. She favored integration and the environment as main topics .
