Indigo Partners is a US private equity firm specializing in investments in the aviation industry. It is based in Phoenix , USA .

Co-founder Bill Franke is CEO of Frontier Airlines and Wizz Air (since 2004). He was also Chairman and CEO of America West Airlines from 1993 to 2001, Chairman of Tiger Airways in Singapore from 2004 to 2009, and Chairman of Spirit Airlines from 2006 to 2013.

Investments and participations

At the Dubai Air Show in November 2017, Indigo Partners signed a memorandum of understanding to purchase 430 A320neo Family aircraft (273 A320neos and 157 A321neos). 146 aircraft are to go to Wizz, 134 to Frontier, 80 to Volaris and 70 to JetSmart. It is the largest single order to date for the European aircraft manufacturer Airbus . On December 28, 2017, Airbus confirmed the sale.

The portfolio of Indigo Partners includes majority stakes in the US low-cost airline Frontier Airlines and the Chilean start-up Jets Mart . The company holds shares in the Hungarian Wizz Air and the Mexican Volaris .

There is no connection to the Indian airline IndiGo Airlines .
