The Old German School building ( English German Private School ) is a historic school building in Windhoek in the region Khomas in Namibia . It has been a National Monument since October 1, 1985 .
The former school building from 1910 consists of a stone foundation and was built with bricks and one of the typical red corrugated iron roofs . It includes a classroom for 45 students, chambers, an entrance hall and ancillary building. The building was the first school in German South West Africa to be built with the help of donations from the water development cooperative , the population and the government. The architect was C. Ankerbrandt, the builder A. Fritzsche.
In May 1910 the school opened as the "Klein Windhoeker government school". 14 years later this was closed by the South African administration.
