Indunil Janakaratne Kodithuwakku Kankanamalage (born July 20, 1966 in Sri Lanka ) is a Roman Catholic clergyman , missionary scholar and curia official .

Life

Indunil Janakaratne Kodithuwakku Kankanamalage received on 16 December 2000, the sacrament of the priesthood and served as chaplain in the Diocese of Badulla active in Sri Lanka. After studying for a doctorate at Urbania, he was appointed professor of missiology at the Roman Pontifical Urban University.

Pope Benedict XVI appointed him on June 12, 2012 as Undersecretary of the Pontifical Council for Interreligious Dialogue . In 2014 he was confirmed in office by Pope Francis .

On July 3, 2019, Pope Francis appointed him Secretary of the Council for Interreligious Dialogue.
