Industriales
Industriales is a baseball team from the Cuban series Nacional . It is one of two teams from Havana and one of the most successful teams in the history of the national league in the post- revolutionary era. They have fans all over the country, which ensures full stadiums, but they are also hated by many outside the capital.
The Super Classics take place six times in one season between Industriales and Santiago . The rivalry is roughly comparable to that of the New York Yankees vs. Boston Red Sox in the US Major League , which also reflects the rivalry between the two cities of Havana and Santiago de Cuba , which dates back to the Spanish colonial times. The team is known as "The Lions" ("los leones"), "The Blue" ("los azules") or "The Blue Lions" ("los leones azules"). Your jersey color is white with blue sleeves for home games and blue for away games.
history
The team was founded in 1962 and initially represented the country's industrial workers. They are understood as the successor to the Almendares baseball team from the then disbanded professional league . They won the Cuban championships in 1963 , 1964 , 1965 , 1966 , 1973 , 1986 , 1992 , 1996 , 2003 , 2004 , 2006 and 2010 . They currently hold the record with 66 wins in 90 games in a championship round.
At the 2006 World Baseball Classic , Industriales provided four national players : Yadel Martí , Deinys Suárez , Rudy Reyes and Carlos Tabares .
