The Ostbrandenburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry ( IHK Ostbrandenburg for short ) looks after the East Brandenburg region. These include the eastern districts of Uckermark , Barnim , district Oderland , Oder-Spree district and county-level city of Frankfurt (Oder) in the state of Brandenburg . The adjacent chambers of industry and commerce are the IHK Südbrandenburg (IHK Cottbus), the IHK Potsdam , the IHK Berlin and the IHK zu Neubrandenburg as well as in Poland the Chamber of Industry and Commerce ( Zachodnia Izba Przemyslowo-Handlowa ) based in Gorzów (formerly Landsberg ( Warta) )

The current President of the Chamber of Industry and Commerce, Carsten Christ, was elected by the Chamber of Industry and Commerce plenary assembly on September 8, 2017. His predecessor Ulrich Müller led the IHK since 2007. This happened before the renaming in 2008 under the old name IHK Frankfurt (Oder).

The IHK has around 39,000 member companies in the region. With the magazine FORUM - Das Brandenburger Wirtschaftsmagazin , the three chambers of industry and commerce in Brandenburg have a joint business magazine for uniform information about the economy in their state.

The structure of the IHK Ostbrandenburg is divided into six fields of competence:

Furthermore, the IHK Ostbrandenburg, as a co-initiator, awards the start-up prize in Brandenburg every year and, together with the IHK Cottbus, the IHK Potsdam , the Potsdam Chamber of Crafts , the Cottbus Chamber of Crafts and the Frankfurt (Oder) Chamber of Crafts, the Brandenburg Future Prize .

Since 2009, the "CityOffensive Ostbrandenburg" competition, initiated by the East Brandenburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry, has been awarding prizes to increase the attraction of inner cities.
