Udo Scheel

Udo Scheel (* 1940 in Wismar ) is a German artist .

From 1959 to 1964 Scheel studied at the state art academy with Gert Weber and Otto Coester and at the Hamburg University of Fine Arts . From 1964 to 1971 he taught at high schools. In 1971 he became a lecturer in painting at the University Institute for Art and Crafts Education in Mainz , today an art academy at Gutenberg University . In 1976 he was a co-founder of the artist group Axiom . From 1989 to 1998 he was chairman of the board of trustees of the Künstlerdorf Schöppingen scholarship service .

In 1972 he was appointed professor at the Institute for Art Educators of the State Art Academy Düsseldorf in Münster, since 1986 Art Academy Münster , and headed it until 2005.
