Trier region industrial park
The Industriepark Region Trier (IRT) is an industrial and commercial area in the Trier region in Rhineland-Palatinate . It is located between the communities of Föhren , Hetzerath and Bekond in the districts of Trier-Saarburg and Bernkastel-Wittlich and borders on the Trier-Föhren airfield and the IRT solar power plant . The federal autobahn 1 / Europastraße 44 , several state roads and the Moselle route ( Trier Hbf - Koblenz Hbf ) run nearby .
The size of the area on the former French military area is about 2.4 square kilometers.
Around 140 companies with around 2600 jobs are based there.
In the middle of the industrial park there is a green strip with several ponds as well as cycle and walking paths.
The IRT association was established in 1992. Association members are the local community Föhren, the local community Hetzerath, the local community Bekond, the collective community Schweich , the collective community Wittlich-Land , the district Bernkastel-Wittlich, the district Trier-Saarburg and the city of Trier .
