Ines Beilke-Voigt

Ines Beilke-Voigt (* 1966 ) is a German prehistorian .

Ines Beilke-Voigt attended school in Stralsund from 1973 to 1985. From 1985 to 1986 she did an internship in the scientific information center of the Academy of Sciences of the GDR . Beilke Voigt then studied prehistory and early history , anthropology and classical archeology at the Humboldt University in Berlin until 1991 . Beilke-Voigt received his doctorate in 1995 with the dissertation "Early history miniature objects with amulet character between the British Isles and the Black Sea" at the Humboldt University in Berlin. From 1994 to 1996 she worked for the excavation company “Archäologie Manufaktur GmbH Berlin”. For this work she was awarded the travel grant of the German Archaeological Institute for the period 1996/1997 . From 1997 until the subject was discontinued, she taught at the Humboldt University as a research assistant and private lecturer on a post -doctoral degree funded by the Volkswagen Foundation. In 2001 Beilke-Voigt did a one-year research stay at the University of Copenhagen . In 2001 she was a lecturer for three months at the Universidad Autónoma de Chiriquí in David , Panama (UNACHI) on "Methods and Theories for Documentation, Conservation and Preservation of Rock Art " ( Spanish: "Métodos y Teorias de Documentación, Conservación y Preservación del Arte Rupestre") ” ). A teaching excavation in the pre-Columbian settlement of Sitio Barriles was carried out there as a practical part . In 2005 she completed her habilitation with the thesis The Sacrifice in Archaeological Findings. Beilke-Voigt's research focuses on archeology from the Roman Empire to the early Middle Ages , folklore , manners , customs , symbolism , burial customs and rock art . She completed her habilitation in 2004 with the topic “The victim in archaeological findings. Studies on the so-called building sacrifices, cultic laying down and burials in prehistoric and early historical settlements in Northern Germany and Denmark ”. Current research projects that are being carried out as part of a Heisenberg grant funded by the German Research Foundation are the Lossow castle wall in Frankfurt (Oder) , the "cult" fireplaces of the Bronze and Iron Ages, and research on children in the Roman era based on findings from children's burials on burial grounds and in settlements in the Germanic, Roman provincial and Italian regions.
