Inge Bongers-Ritter (born September 1, 1941 in Cologne ) is a German journalist , theater and film critic and was the features editor of the Berlin daily Der Abend and freelance worker for various German broadcasters. Her written work (reviews, appraisals, obituaries and interviews, book publications) are signed with her maiden name “Inge Bongers” or just with “IB”.

life and work

After her school education in Cologne Inge Bongers moved to Berlin in 1963. There she attended the "Fritz Kirchhoff School" DER KREIS , worked in the secretariat of the newspaper Der Abend during her training as an actress and then began a traineeship in the features editorial team. There she worked in the field of culture, with a focus on film and theater criticism . After the evening was shut down in January 1981, she wrote articles on radio as a freelance journalist, mainly for the SFB (Sender frei Berlin) , today rbb (Rundfunk Berlin Brandenburg) , in its long-standing series "Here speaks Radio Tire - Radio journalists on the trail of the Bible “She took on the role of society reporter, reported about the gossip at the court of King Herod. She regularly wrote film reviews for Deutschlandfunk Köln and WDR and wrote obituaries for well-known German theater and film greats such as Harald Juhnke , Johannes Heesters and Otto Sander .

Inge Bonger's first novel We Are So Free was published in 1988 by Ullstein Verlag . In it, the author describes “the wild sixties in a completely different way: more Lambrusco than Adorno, more lust than Lenin” and describes the “adventurous journeys of a young woman from Cologne who has just come of age through Berlin in the mid-sixties, characterized by looking for an apartment, employment office "Flat-sharing community and the vocabulary of the left, which you initially cannot understand".

Inge Bongers was married to the journalist Heinz Ritter , ( feature editor of the evening and later culture correspondent for Deutschlandfunk Cologne). The collection of published theater and film reviews by both authors can be found in the Stadtmuseum Berlin .
