Live and act

Inge Friedl studied history and German at the University of Graz . She lives and works in Graz .

On the occasion of Graz 2003, European Capital of Culture, she was responsible for the children's program Adventure Locations and Perception Islands . From 2006 to 2008 she curated the hands-on museum for children in the Propstei Aflenz, and in 2009 she designed the children's museum at Oberkapfenberg Castle. From 2009 she was responsible for the children's program and the entire mediation work of several Upper Austrian provincial exhibitions. In 2011 she curated the children's path at the Carinthian State Exhibition in Fresach, and in 2015 the educational program in the Gerlinde-Kaltenbrunner-Museum Between Heaven and Earth in Spital am Pyhrn.

For the Upper Austrian provincial exhibitions in 2009, 2013, 2016 and 2018, she took up individual topics of the exhibition and enabled the children to process the content in a didactically valuable, playful way in interactive stations. School classes in particular were able to take advantage of this special offer in age-appropriate, varied tours.

Inge Friedl deals largely with old ways of life and work in her books. In countless conversations with contemporary witnesses and in research in private photo archives, she captures and records what would otherwise be forgotten.
