Inge Margarete Kloepfer (born April 27, 1964 in Munich ) is a German business journalist as well as non-fiction and biography author.

Life

Kloepfer grew up in Essen . After graduating from high school in 1983, she studied Japanese and Chinese Studies in Bonn . After two years of study, she studied for one year at Shifan University in Taipei . During this time she made several trips to the People's Republic of China and other countries in the region. After her return, she switched to economics in Munich, where she graduated in 1991 with a degree in economics. In January 1992 she became a member of the FAZ's business editorial team . Initially she was responsible for the Eastern Europe region, from 1995 to 2000 for monetary and financial policy as well as banks. From 2001 to 2008 she reported for the FAS as a business correspondent from Berlin. Since then she has been working as a freelance journalist and author, giving lectures or moderating and still writing for the FAS. For her bestseller about the publisher Friede Springer she was awarded the “Business Journalist of the Year 2005” award. In 2008 her much-acclaimed book "Uprising of the Lower Class - What Comes Up" was published. According to the book with Kent Nagano , published in 2014, “Expect Miracles! Expect the Unexpected ”followed another publication with a conductor. In 2017 the book "Fear, Risk and Love: Moments with Mozart" was published with Omer Meir Wellber . In August 2019, the ARD showed Kloepfer's film "Unity, D-Mark, Fatherland - The Difficult Legacy of the Treuhand", about the work of the Treuhand in the years 1990 to 1994.

Kloepfer is married and lives with her husband and three children in Berlin.
