Ingeborg Wolff
Ingeborg Wolff (* 15. July 1938 in Eisenach as Ingeborg Behrens ) is a German lawyer who until 2003 the Vice-President of the Federal Social Court was.
Career
Ingeborg Wolff studied law in Marburg and Kiel until the first state examination in law in 1962 . In 1968 she passed the second state examination in law and received her doctorate . This was followed by a job as a research assistant at the University of Marburg, before she started working in social justice in 1969 . She was initially a judge at the social courts in Marburg and Gießen and from 1973 a judge at the Hessian regional social court . In the fall of 1980 she became a judge at the Federal Social Court. There she was initially a member of the 1st Senate, which has to deal with legal disputes in the field of statutory health insurance . For personal reasons, she refused to appeal to the Federal Constitutional Court in 1986 . In 1994 she became chairman of the 7th Senate, which was responsible for questions relating to unemployment insurance , and also acted as the court's press officer. In December 1997 she was appointed Vice President of the Federal Social Court to succeed Otto Ernst Krasney . She was the first female vice-president of the court.
On August 1st, 2003 Ingeborg Wolff retired. Since numerous other judges were retiring around the same time, there was a considerable restructuring of the Federal Social Court.
Ingeborg Wolff is the author of a major commentary on employment protection law , which is considered the standard work in the field.
