Ingo Lieb

Ingo Lieb (born September 4, 1939 in Hanover ) is a German mathematician who deals with function theory.

Lieb studied physics and mathematics at the University of Göttingen and in Paris . In 1965 he received his doctorate under Hans Grauert in Göttingen ( Complex Spaces and Complex Spectra ). From 1965 to 1971 he was an assistant and later a lecturer in Göttingen. 1971/72 he was visiting professor at Princeton . After that he was scientific advisor and professor at the Westphalian Wilhelms University in Münster . Since 1975 he has been a full professor at the University of Bonn . In 2001 he was Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences there. Lieb is the author of a function theory textbook that is widespread in Germany and, together with Hans Grauert, of a three-volume analysis textbook.

Lieb is President of the Bonn Mathematical Society.
