Athletic career

Ingo Steinhöfel took part in a total of five Olympic Games and was able to win the silver medal in the middleweight up to 75 kg in Seoul in 1988 with a duel of 360 kg (165.0 / 195.0 kg). For this success he was awarded the Patriotic Order of Merit in silver.
