Ingo von Voss

Ingo von Voss (born May 29, 1954 in Hamburg ) is a German diplomat .

Life

After graduating from high school and completing military service, von Voss began studying law in Hamburg, Lausanne and Geneva in 1976 . In 1986 he received his doctorate. He then joined the Foreign Service . From 1988 to 1991 he was head of the consular and press department at the German Consulate General in São Paulo , Brazil . Afterwards von Voss worked as a consultant in the central department of the Foreign Office . From 1994 he headed the economic department of the German embassy in Moscow . In 1997 he became head of the press department of the Permanent Mission of the Federal Republic of Germany to NATO in Brussels . After a renewed assignment in the central department of the Federal Foreign Office, this time as deputy head of department, von Voß went in 2003 as political advisor to the Permanent Mission of the Federal Republic of Germany to the United Nations in Geneva . After another position as head of section in the central department from 2006 to 2010, von Voss became envoy at the German embassy in Prague . From 2013 to 2016 he was Consul General at the German Consulate General in Thessaloniki , Greece . Since 2016 he has been the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany in Montevideo , Uruguay .

Von Voss is married and has two children.
