Scandal at the 2010 International Chopin Competition

In October 2010 he took second place among over 80 participants at the International Chopin Competition . During the competition, Wunder was widely recognized as the best competitor - the crowd's favorite and the leader on points. However, in the final phase of the competition, the jury said goodbye to the points system and only selected the winners based on the last round. Although Wunder won the award for the best concert (only the concert was to be played in the last round), he was not awarded the gold medal (awarded to Julianna Avdejewa ). This shook the Warsaw public, who viewed the events as a scandal similar to the Ivo Pogorelich case of 1980.
