Ingrīda amantova ( Russian Ингрида Амантова transcribed Ingrida Amantowa * 21st June 1960 in Cesis , Ventspils novads ) is a former luger who for the Soviet Union took.
Amantova's greatest international success was winning the bronze medal at the 1980 Winter Olympics in Lake Placid . In the same season she won her only World Cup race in Igls . She also finished the Luge World Cup 1982/1983 in second place. At her second Winter Olympics in Sarajevo in 1984 , she reached fourth place. During her career, Amantova won three Soviet championship titles.
After the end of her active career, she worked as a luge trainer and director of the sports school in Sigulda . From 1998 she was a member of the National Olympic Committee of Latvia .
