List of grape varieties

Ingram's Muscat is a grape variety and comes from England .

ancestry

The Ingram's Muscat is probably a cross of as yet unknown varieties. The breeder was Thomas Ingram († 1872), who worked as Queen Victoria's gardener in Frogmore .

The grape variety was later used to breed the Muscat-Ottonel and Regner grape varieties .

It is black berry, but not coloring. This means that only white wines can be made from this grape. Similar to the gray burgundy.

Ampelographic varietal characteristics

  • The shoot tip is open. It is spider-weby to slightly woolly and has a greenish color. The green young leaves are only slightly hairy on the underside of the leaves.
  • The small leaves are five-lobed and deeply indented. The stalk bay is lyre-shaped open. The blade is serrated.
  • The cylindrical grape is small to medium-sized, sometimes winged on one side and with dense berries. The round berries are medium-sized and of a deep dark blue color, but do not color. The berries have a slight note of nutmeg in the taste.

Ripe: approx. 5 to 6 days after the Gutedel and is therefore considered to ripen early in an international comparison.

properties

The variety is susceptible to powdery mildew , downy mildew and gray mold rot . Since the variety is prone to heavy trickling , the yields are highly variable and uncertain.
