Ingrid Hartmann

Ingrid Hartmann (born July 23, 1930 in Bad Salzuflen ; † November 9, 2006 in Wiesbaden ) was a German canoeist . In 1960 she won the Olympic silver medal in a two-person kayak .

Ingrid Hartmann worked for the Herford Canoe Club until 1958 and moved to Bertasee Duisburg in 1959 . After taking second place in a single kayak over 500 meters at the German championship in 1950 , she won her first German championship title in 1951. By 1963 she took first place three times in a single kayak, six times she was second and four times third. In 1957, 1958 and 1960 she took second place behind Therese Zenz . At the 1958 World Cup, Zenz and Hartmann jointly won the bronze medal in a two-person kayak. 1960 reached the two at the Olympic Games in Romesecond place behind the Soviet boat after Zenz had already won silver in the single shortly before. In 1961 Ingrid Hartmann won their only German championship title in two-man together with Inge Schrof. Ingrid Hartmann received her last international medal at the 1963 World Championships when she won silver in a four-person kayak together with Roswitha Esser , Elke Felten and Annemarie Zimmermann .

On December 9, 1960, she was awarded the Silver Laurel Leaf for her athletic achievements.
