Ingrid Schuhknecht

Ingrid Schuhknecht (* 1950 in Dresden ) is a German painter and glass painter .

Life

Ingrid Schuhknecht, who was born in Dresden after the war , acquired the title of engineer for chemical technology in the then GDR in 1972. In the same year she began painting, where she was inspired by experiments with transparent foils for glass design, especially for “design with light”. From 1978 to 2000 Schuhknecht worked as a glass painter in the Schölzel glass painting and in the Mayersche Hofkunstanstalt in Munich. During this period, she temporarily completed her training as a glass painter in 1982 and began working as a freelance artist in 1987 with her own design work.

Schuhknecht expanded her technical and artistic skills in 2003 through training in electronic image processing .

In addition to designing glass, the artist, a member of the Association of Visual Artists (BBK), also always paints with oil and acrylic paints.

Since 2012 Ingrid Schuhknecht has worked as a lecturer for glass painting at the Berlin Glass Guild and Chamber of Crafts.

Exhibitions

Since 1981 Ingrid Schuhknecht has presented her work to numerous exhibitions, including a solo exhibition in the Museumsdorf Glashütte in 2006 . In 2008 she took part in the Spectral 3 in Luckau .
