Ingrid Winkler (nee Weiss) (born October 22, 1958 ) is an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ). She was a member of the Austrian Federal Council from 2013 to 2018 .

education and profession

Winkler first attended elementary, secondary and commercial school and from 1985 to 1986 completed an accountant course with a final exam. In addition, from 1991 to 1993 she attended a business administration course with a university character. From 1976 to 1986, Winkler worked as a clerk with comprehensive client support in the tax consulting firm Dkfm. Rudolf Scheicher employed. She then worked from 1986 to 1989 as head of accounting at the Seminarhotel Baden BetriebsgmbH and then from 1989 to 1998 in the same position at the Gutenberg GmbH printing and publishing company. Between 1998 and 2000 she worked as the sole managing director of the printing and publishing house Gutenberg GmbH, from 2000 to 2004 she was also the managing director for finance, accounting, controlling and IT at Leykam Universitätsbuchdruckerei GmbH, where she drafted strategic concepts and implemented them of structural adjustments in the course of the merger process. From 2003 to 2004, Winkler was also group controller and managing director of the property management company Let`s Print Holding AG. From 2004 to 2005 Winkler worked for the Echo advertising agency.

In 2005 she finally started working for Wiener Neustadt Holding Gesellschaft mbH, where she was employed as an assistant to the management with a focus on restructuring administration, finance and, from 2007 to 2016, as the project manager for the operational implementation of the real estate outsourcing of the residential complexes of the Wiener Neustadt municipality . In this function, Winkler is said to have knowingly been responsible for and tolerated incorrect invoices for the state's housing subsidy office and the tax office for years. The process was held before the Regional Court of Wiener Neustadt and ended in July 2018 with a diversion .

Politics and functions

Winkler has been a member of the district committee of the SPÖ district organization Wiener Neustadt since 2000 and a member of the district women's committee of the SPÖ district organization Wiener Neustadt. From 2005 to 2012 she belonged to the SPÖ Stadtfrauen Wiener Neustadt and in 2006 became a member of the Wiener Neustadt municipal council. In the same year she also became a member of the district board and committee of the SPÖ city organization Wiener Neustadt, and since 2009 she has also been chairwoman of Section 10 in Wiener Neustadt. Winkler and from 2008 to 2013 she was city councilor for finances, economics and investments in companies and was elected to the Federal Council by the Lower Austrian state parliament on April 24, 2013. From January 1, 2016 to December 31, 2017, she was Vice President of the Federal Council.

After the state elections in Lower Austria in 2018 , she left the Federal Council on March 21, 2018.
