The Regional Court of Wiener Neustadt is a regional court in the city of Wiener Neustadt in Lower Austria .
history
The mighty three-storey, late-historic district court, built from 1890 to 1893 according to the plans of the Ministerialrat and Building Councilor Wilhelm Röllig , was partially destroyed in 1945 during the Second World War and restored in 1951. The building is a listed building . The courthouse was built and structurally connected to the Wiener Neustadt prison when it was founded. In 1987 a renovation took place. In 1993 the district court was renamed the regional court.
architecture
The regional court has a five-part main front with two three-axis side risers , two seven-axis reserves, and a five-axis central riser protruding far. The ground floor with heavy rusticated forms has a round arch portal with the sculpture head of Justitia in the keystone and the sculpture heraldic shield with scales in the crowning triangular gable. The central risalit with colossal pilasters with Ionic columns in the slightly protruding three central axes is crowned with a baluster-flanked triangular gable with a sculpted imperial double-headed eagle. The reserves and the side projections are kept in stone carving . The aediculum windows on the first floor have a crowning triangular gable, the aedicular windows on the second floor are suspected.
The two-storey chapel on the courtyard side is fortified with blocks on the ground floor and built above it with a double pilaster structure. The aedicule windows of the chapel are rounded. The rectangular, pilaster-structured hall room with a barrel vault with stitch caps has a stucco ceiling decorated with egg rods. The south wall is windowed. The gallery over two Tuscan columns has a wooden parapet. The simple aedical altar shows the altarpiece of the Crucifixion of Christ from 1893.
